![]() For more than 40 years, Meals-on-Wheels has been helping people in our community. Five days a week, volunteers pack the meals into bags and deliver them to the frail, sick or elderly. In 2008, 31,000 hot and frozen meals were distributed from our base at Yorkminster Park Church to 310 clients.
Glenview Church is responsible for the Thursday delivery. Each week, the coordinator ensures that there will be people available to work in the kitchen, drive the cars and deliver the meals. In addition, one Glenview member serves on the Board of Directors.
Glenview also donates money to provide shortbread at Christmas, hot cross buns at Easter and cheese twice a month. Advent Festival participants make tray favours and the Guides, Brownies and Sparks often bake cookies that can be sent along as extra treats for the clients.
