On Sunday, April 18 the Pastoral Care Ministry Team hosted a seminar, "Transitions". The changing roles as parents age and the support needed for those who have responsibility for them was discussed. The presenter was excellent. Questions and comments were welcome and resource material was available. Although many of the points covered were familiar, the fact that they were all put together and in proper perspective made the presentation relevant to all.
Our Ministry Team worked well together and had some welcome help on the day from some not even on our "team". In planning, we looked at who would find this type of information most useful. We expected that those who have responsibility for aging parents would be the ones who attended. As it turned out, it was more the seniors, themselves, who came. One comment heard at the end was, "Our kids should have been here!"
If you have suggestions for a talk such as this in the future please speak to Mary Walker.
